Omar Fakeer is a clinical psychologist dedicated to understanding and treating the deep impacts of trauma, with an MSc in Clinical Psychology from London Metropolitan University.
Omar’s approach focuses on how unresolved trauma affects the body and mind. Trauma isn’t always visible, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there. Just like physical pain, mental pain is rooted in our biology and felt deeply within our being. He uses EMDR to help clients process these memories, targeting painful experiences so they no longer dictate reactions. Through therapy, clients can experience life without the lens of trauma, understanding that they are not defined by what has happened to them.
Omar’s diverse training includes:
- EMDR International Association Approved full training and advanced trainings
- CBT Specialized Training from the Beck Institute: Acquired specialized CBT skills for both adult and youth ADHD, attended workshops on CBT Essentials, Depression, Anxiety, and Personality Disorders, and enhanced strategies for effective communication and therapy across diverse patient groups.
- Foundational Training in DBT
- Innovative Therapy Modalities/Techniques & Crisis Management Training from the Academic Institute of Higher Education (AIHE): Attended lectures on VR therapy, participated in TRE and Emergency Psychology workshops, and developed skills in innovative therapy methods, stress and trauma management, and psychological crisis response.
- CT-R for Delusions Training
- Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk Training from Zero Suicide Institute
Omar is dedicated to his clients and is always willing to adopt a beginner mind to commit to continuous learning, and he believes there is a wealth of knowledge to be learned from each client.
