Mai is a credentialed Special Education Consultant and Parent Coach, with over 15 years of experience bridging the gap between specialized instruction, school-system compliance, reviewing Individualized Education Program (IEPs) and family empowerment.
With the dual approach of a Special Education Consultant and Certified Parent Coach, Mai has agency in facilitating school-parent collaboration and using evidence-based coaching methodologies to improve student well-being and adolescent healthy development.
Trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy – Mai embraces diversity and individuality becoming a staunch advocate for the child and for the parent; to empower them navigate home, school and social demands.
The Special Education system can be challenging, along with managing adolescent development and navigating the role of neurodiverse parenting can feel like a constant uphill battle for both the parent and the child leaving the parent feeling isolated and exhausted and the teen feeling misunderstood and exposed.

Work experience:
Mai established the Special Education Department at the Amman Baccalaureate School, worked with the International Baccalaureate Program, and headed the Special Education Department at Well Spring Community School – Beirut, entertaining the ‘inclusion project’ in collaboration with American University of Beirut.
